A letter grading system will be used to evaluate performance of students in the courses.:
The grading system will have the following letter grades A+, A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+,C, C-, D, F & I. Reporting grades on students mark sheets however will be restricted to A, B, C, D, I & F. The grade points for a 3 credit course corresponding to the above grades will be A+=13, A=12, A-=11, B+=10, B=9, B-=8, C+=7, C=6, C-=5, D=3 & F=0. The grade points for one credit will be the above numbers divided by 3. The grade I means that the student has not completed the course and therefore receives an “Incomplete” grade. F is a failure grade and has zero grade points. The grade D is also an unsatisfactory grade, though not exactly a failure. The grades can be interpreted as follows
A Excellent B Good C Satisfactory D Unsatisfactory F Fail I incomplete
To be promoted from one year to another a student must secure a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of atleast 2.0 and also should have secured no more than 4 Ds in the courses taken by him / her during the year.
The CGPA will be calculated as follows:

The CGPA will be calculated for students in every trimester. The student should not have obtained more than 4Ds in any trimester or more than 1 F and 2Ds or more that 2Fs in any trimester, in order to continue with the program. Likewise a student should not have obtained more than 4Ds or 1F and 2Ds or 2Fs in the entire year and should have also obtained a minimum CGPA of 2.0 in order to be promoted to the next year.
